Loch Garten, Abernethy Forest, Strathspey, Scottish Highlands.
For many years this has been the centre for the safe return of Osprey to the Scottish Highlands. A well guarded nest site, and in more recent years, a discreet observation point have helped the Osprey. Thanks to this initiative, there are now many breeding locations across the Highlands with numbers of Osprey increasing each year.
Very sadly, it would appear that, Raptors of all species are still persecuted in many areas of the UK. Conservation of wildlife seems to have passed some groups of people bye.
At least in these locations the birds are relatively safe and return each year to increase their numbers.
So as well as the Osprey
