Just a gentle reminder….. December 4th and Christmas approaches rather fast. So remember to “Post early for Christmas“.
I know some folk frown upon Christmas and the tradition of sending cards, but for others it is a joy to send and receive between friends. Maybe this year it is more important than ever to keep in contact with those who are at an even bigger distance from us than usual….. so maybe add a short note to accompany your cards….
I for one lookforward to receiving their news updates.
Please Remember ….
Stay Safe …. Be Kind…. Look After Each Other

I continue to send Christmas greetings by mail and always include a note in my cards too. I love receiving them too.

We do too….. its the pleasure of receiving news from folk who are far away. Somehow the written message, however short, seems to mean more than emails we have received during the year. …. and we love the cards.

The name of the tea room reminds me of a fictional American television program from the 1950’s called The Millionaire. In each episode a very rich man named John Beresford Tipton would anonymously give a million dollars tax-free to someone.

If only that was true…… I will always remember that link to the name when walking through Beresford Dale. We used to have Rich Business people we called benefactors. They made lots of money but also gave back to the communities in which they worked. Built Hospitals, Schools, Housing, Churches. Nowadays all we have are equally rich people who hold on tight to their money and try their very best to avoid taxes…. and should they actually add to the community they ensure they get maximum publicity. So say we have progressed….I don’t think so.

True. But it is often those with so little that seem to give so much…. deeds and or dosh.

I had to look up dosh, which I see is of unknown origin and dates back to the 1950s.
