A British Complaint……

_DOI8741qq

They say it is only the British who complain about the weather, never satisfied.  But reading many of the blogs here on WP it appears as if it is a habit shared by a good few nations.

It certainly has been a strange year for weather, I have suggested that it is ‘roller coaster’ weather …. Well it has not gone to plan, with I suspect, a knock on effect on the seasons.

This past 2 weeks we have enjoyed a mini heatwave for 3 days.  This was quickly followed by a string of very grey and damp days, days when it didn’t rain just had a all enveloping damp in the air. This of course was followed by 2 days of  real rain, rain which you might describe as a mini monsoon’s.

As this second week draws to a close we get another burst of dry, sunny weather with blue skies and cotton wool clouds.

The significant beauty of this latest change, is that it has brought us some real September weather.  Days that are showing us the signs that autumn is indeed getting nearer.

Some flowers are having a last flourish whilst other are definitely  heading home…

Trees are staring to change colour, subtle change but still a change.  Mornings are starting misty and the air does feel very different…great weather to be out and about…

Two weeks of very changeable weather.  The forward forecast is not promising, so best enjoy the this little bit of pre-autumnal colour.

No matter the weather, like the rest of life, we just have to get on with it, even in these strange Covid times….BUT

Please Remember ….

Stay Safe …. Be Kind…. Look After Each Other

  1. We have also had such strange weather – and some floodings. Some days ago we lost the soft, warm winds and now it is really raw and cold. Tonight we may be payed a visit by Frost. I have saved some plants…

  2. Whenever I’m in Britain, everyone apologises for the rain, as if it’s somehow their fault. They don’t understand that I love rain, more so because it’s so hot and dry where we live. (See, Australians complain about the weather too.)
