This week our Chancellor published his Mini Budget…. it was they say intended to help everyone and in particular, in his words, “the hardworking people” in these current tough financial times. The general consensus was that it didn’t help anyone very much,
So may be this little Cook Book could be of more use. First Published in 1852 and written by Queen Victoria’s Head Chef. The intention was to help the Working Classes make the best of the food available to them.
There is even a section encouraging the Working Classes to make Soups for the ‘Poor’

It does of course beg the question … with today’s Soup Kitchens and Food Banks, has anything changed.
Times are strange and for an increasing number, getting tougher…… so as always

In my view here in 2022, it is worse with leadership showing no compassion only self interest. Sad.
