The image above is from last year, a rare visitor. Even then we were seeing a marked decline, in our garden, and our local countryside, of all species of Butterflies.
This year the decline continues, only the occasional fleeting visitor…. a very sad, and an equally worrying situation.
We do though have one resident…. been with us for a few years now and not showing any signs of flying away.
Of course, Butterflies are only one group of species that are under threat…. there are of course many others. It has to be a concern to everyone.
Whatever the effects of climate on your local habitat…. as always…

I am afraid it also applies to many of what we would have called common garden birds …. gone

It very much does, sadly. Gone are those thrushes, sparrows, warblers, tits etc etc
