A Red Steam Driven Pulley Wheel, faithfully restored. It is one of the few reminders of one of the earliest Railways in the UK. Whilst it no longer pulls heavily laden trains, up what is an incredible steep incline, it is still operated as a show piece, at weekends to illustrate the power of a static steam driven Wheel. Very dramatic in action.
( I should add that the skillful restoration work, also converted the wheel from Steam to Compressed Air, as a nod to todays environmental issues)
