Flippant Friday… Flying Boats

Certainly eye catching, one could say unmissable.  This bold creation is on a wall in Lerwick, Shetland.

I am still not sure why the boats appear to be suspended on ropes, but maybe it is perhaps a reflection of the colourful boats suspended from the ceiling at the Shetland Heritage Museum.  At the time I thought it was just a creative museum display…. then later, seeing this piece of Wall Art elsewhere in the town, made me ponder the question why?

Never did find out the reason, if indeed there is one. 🙂

Friday has once again come around in what seems the blink of an eye…. the good news is that the weekend is ahead….  Enjoy and as always….

  1. In the Heritage Museum it made complete sense. A tall building, ..they made a great and dramatic display, freed up floors areas and maximised the use of space. But when I found this Wall Painting, a long way from the Museum, I just wondered. Not seen boats (skiffs) suspended like this in the Scottish harbours… maybe I have missed them 🙂
