The Cuillin’s, Isle of Skye, Scotland
Saint Andrews Day…also known as the Feast of Saint Andrew and Andermas. As well as celebrating Scotland’s Saint it also marks the start of Advent.

Saint Andrews Day is an important day in Scotland’s culture. Over the centuries it has been marked by celebrations and feasting. Celebrations today may not be as decadent, but still will made with great enthusiasm by Scots far and wide.
I may not be Scottish born and breed, but still have Scottish blood and a spirit much entwinned with my life…. so tonight I will lift a glass…. a wee dram to all my Scottish friends… friends in their homeland and those elsewhere, far and wide… and of course to those no longer with us.

It was rather exciting on the ridge…. on each occasion it never seemed to be any easier. Some great memories from an ill spent youth 🙂
