Somewhere near Kristiansund, Norway
Maritime workers operate on their own clock, a clock that is governed by the tides and of course the weather…. sometimes they see the best parts of the day, but also at times the worst.
The 15th September…. halfway through the month already.
Wherever you are today, enjoy…. and as always….
Please Remember ….
Stay Safe …. Be Kind…. Look After Each Other
15th September

The idea of a working day set by the tides rather than by a clock on the wall is such a good way to frame that image. It is one of the things I find hardest to explain to my children in coastal places – that the boats leave when the water says so, not when the schedule does. Beautiful light near Kristiansund, and a fair reminder that someone was up long before the rest of us to see it.

So true..we take the clock as gospel, the driver of daily life…but as you acknowledge not for those who have to live and work on or by the sea. 😄
