The Nigg Ferry, Cromarty Firth, North East Scotland
Small Island and Loch hopping ferries are a lifeline for many folk in northern Scotland. A link to mainland amenities, or simply avoiding very long road trips round parts of the rugged coast. They are a utility service, just like a bus… but none of the glamour of the larger Channel and major Island ferries… some ferries have seasonal operating restrictions. Often as on this particular day, it was a cold wait even on a sunny morning.
So if you are catching the bus, train, plane or even a ferry today…. as always….
