A Medieval Dove Cote at Naunton, The Cotswolds
Long before the days of Supermarkets or even local shops one of the few places you could get fresh meat was the Dove Cote. Just about every farm, Abbey and Estate House had their own, some villages had a communal Dove Cote. Doves or Pigeons…what ever made their nest within were on the menu.
