Now that was a surprise

Well that did take us by surprise.  A blue sky with just the occasional wispy cloud, sunshine that made the thermometer rise to 25c…..   you might even think that summer has arrived.

It also coincided with the annual visit to Hopton Hall Roses, not far away a Carsington here in Derbyshire…. always a good display, even if this year the weather over spring and summer has conspired against them., the gardening team have done well.  Set against the Topiary it always creates summer memories for another year.  Hard to think that it is perhaps only 10 years since the Rose Garden was rescued from oblivion and restored to the original plan.

Lakeside the Swans were also lazing in the summer sun..

Those forecasters who (in theory) know best tell us that summer will last for the next 3 days…. and for this year that is something of a record run  🙂
