Bolton Abbey…. standing above the River Wharfe in Wharfedale, North Yorkshire. Bolton Abbey dates back to the 12th century, an Augustinian Monastery of power and wealth. Like so many Monasteries across Britain, King Henry VIII, and his Dissolution Act brought the Abbey’s influence to a sudden end.
