Farewell to a Glorious November……..

November-in-a-Derbyshire-Beech-Wood

It is not often that we can say a fond farewell to November but this year we can. With the exception of a couple of wet days, one of frost and the occasional blustery spells, the rest have been simply glorious.  Warm, sunny and eventually golden.

Lime-and-Beech

Late yesterday and last night we did have some stronger winds that have done what November winds are supposed to…strip the leaves from the trees.  With the exception of the Lime above this Beech wood is now bare.  At least it gives us a chance to admire the sturdy skeletons of the venerable Beech…..

And on a day like today a great spot to sit and and possibly the last chance to enjoy the view over a landscape that still has more than just a tint of green…..

Buster

Buster is not one for sitting and is much more content to forage through the dry, crisp leaves just perfect for kicking up as one walks along…..

So ‘Goodbye’ November and thanks for bringing so much colour into what should normally be one of the darker months of the year…….

    1. Thank you…it was a magical clear bright day with a very low sun, so I cannot take the credit for the ambience. I think I said to someone on an earlier blog that I wished we could also capture the smell of the day, the location…yesterday was just one of those days when it just felt so good, looked so good and had the true autumnal smell that stimulates your senses.
