Our local Council is a bit over keen on Risk Assessment resulting to in a proliferation of Safety signs…whilst some are obviously of benefit to the public, others are perhaps not. I rather think this one is a little misplaced as even the most tenacious of golfers would hesitate to play out of this rough! In any case you can see what the local birds think of it.

Well, David, we also live quite close up to a golf course and often walk through the woods surrounding the course. Unavoidably some golfers aren’t quite as proficient in their sport as they believe themselves, and once in a while we hear the familiar sound of golf balls hitting tree trunks or smattering through the leaves above our heads. Soon you’ll be carrying a helmet on your Sunday stroll. Or perhaps something enabeling you to shoot back? 😀

It has often been said by fellow walkers that the standard of golf “is so high2 on this course that we would be safer walking down the fairway than the rough!……I suspect that s true

If people weren’t so keen on suing other people then we wouldn’t need so many notices.

This is well beyond the pale. Anyone hitting a golf ball in that tangle would be asking for a kind of pinball response, and the helmet idea would be very advisable. I shudder at the thought. What a fun post!
