A Carpet of Purple Heather….on Stanton Moor
It could be because August (and much of the two previous months) have been a mix of rain then periods of warm bright sunshine that have proved to be a productive mix.
Certainly our Heather Clad moorlands have not only been swathed with a carpet of fragrant Heather….but after many weeks of flowering it still looks vibrant, healthy and here for a while longer.

It was nice to get a last look at this years purple carpet…. and the bees are very busy enjoying the nectar bonus π Can’t last much longer.

I guess not! We’re facing overcast and rain for the next 3-4 days, but nothing much. Only 1.5 – 2,5 mm a day! Just enough to prevent me going out with a camera!
