Allestree Lake….
As was predicted by those who say they know (and as hoped for by us lesser mortals) Saturday started off cold but bright and sunny with a hazy blue sky.
The Lake looked at its winters best in the apparent warmth of the early morning light. Even though it was cold the ice that had started to melt had not re-frozen over night….a welcome break for the ducks and geese who were making the most of this early sunny morning..

I could be mistaken, but are there signs of new buds at the tips of these Sycamore trees, now leisurely wafting their young branches in morning sun and breeze..

The Golf Course was open this morning, winter greens had been set up, yet there where no takers for a round on what was such a pleasant morning….. they don’t know what they are missing

Again the weather had the last laugh. Despite such an encouraging bright start, by early afternoon it had started to rain…perfect weather for Ducks (and Geese)..
As for Sunday…..the best guess (sorry forecast) from the Met Office is for a very wet and possibly stormy day…well I do have some good books to catch up on.
