February Morning Contrasts…..

February-dawn

It was a very cold start to the day, frost even reaching under the trees in Big Wood. But the morning sunrise  was for a time full of promise for the day.  After the past few dull drab days we had a degree of hope for better. But alas that sunrise quickly fizzled out to nothing leaving just another dull damp day.

By the time we reached the Pines a damp greyness was seeping through the woods.

The Lake has not been frozen that often this winter but today was one of the few days when Ice ruled the waves…

The immediate forecast is for wet weather, strong winds…becoming milder, then towards the end of the month severe cold weather with heavy snow. Joy of Joys

  1. Agree with Leya. What a wonderful shot, David. The wood seems to be magical this way. It’s been cold here as well with the exception of yesterday which was dull, misty and cold. Even without wind. It turned out to be a good day for travelling. And so I did. Went to almost exactly the middle of the country. Town calle Apeldoorn in the middle also of our National Park The Veluwe. In one day I travelled almost 7 hours yesterday but it was worth it. Another shot of blood plasma in the knee. Hope this time it will keep longer. It does make me walk good enough for short walks of about a mile to and fro. Love it. Without this I almost couldn’t walk anymore.
