Our First Crocus… but not yet Spring
A welcome splash of Spring colour . Doesn’t matter what colour of crocus that grace your garden it is that bright yellow stamen that hits you.
It is also another welcome sign that Spring is really on the way…..only 12 more days until it is the equinox we are waiting for.

Ah! So we’re moving in the right direction at last? Honestly – I don’t think we’ll se any traces of crocus here for at least a month? Possibly even longer! In my garden there’s still 3-4 feet of snow, but the cold of last week has subsided. Now we have mainly ‘zero’ temperatures . . .

The right direction but a small step…..and after a miserable (though overall mild) winter it is a pleasure to see. Midday yesterday we actually reached 11c and back to 0c overnight. again a move in the right direction. 🙂

Wow! 11 C is ‘spring temperature’! I woke to minus 0,1 falling back to minus 0,3, however, we have still 3-4 feet of snow lying about the garden and elsewhere . . .

Many crocusses here. They were here before Jack Frost came and turned gras into grey and dull vegetation. We have a LOW above us now. Plenty of rain. Good for all the plants, I think. I too think we are moving in the right direction. And as for the equinox: https://www.thesun.co.uk/uncategorized/3130193/spring-equinox-ostara-stonehenge-ostara/

The first signs of spring! I love seeing them erupt from the barren ground. Ours are still buried under a layer of snow. Hopefully, we’ll see them soon.

Erupt is a good description…then if all goes to plan it becomes a grand explosion 🙂
