Pessimist or Optimist…..?

_DOI7136qqAllestree Lake

Yesterday was a surprisingly bright sunny day, surprising as the forecast was not that good. Whilst walking round the lake we met another dog walker…“best get a move on he said.. they reckon there is a 50% chance of rain by lunchtime”.Β  Well I guess that means there is at least a 50% chance of sunshine. A glass half full or half empty comes to mind!.

Without dwelling on what the rest of the day had instore for us we decided we would enjoy the blessings of a warm summers day.Β  Flag Iris now wave in the abundance of lakeside vegetation. Higher up in the woods the morning sunshine filtered thru the lush new bright green leaves whilst in the meadows to Clover, Daisies and Buttercups were just magnificent…full of insects, bees and butterflies.

The day continued as it started the only change being in that it got much warmer (perhaps it will thunder tonight).Β  Far too warm to do anything very strenuous in the garden but just nice to potter and enjoy…

  1. Fabulous colours, David. I wonder what those blue little flowers are. Leaves look like nettles. Such a rich and gordious colour. I love the one of Buster, enjoying his siesta in the sunshine.
As for the weather… we did get the warnings too. But it never came here. It remained in the Southern part and they did get it good. But here it’s muggy and very warm and dry. Change will come by the end of the week. Next week ‘THEY’ tell us it will be a very pleasing 20-22ΒΊ with some rain, some clouds and a bit-o’-wind. I’m not comlaining about that. Cooler means I can do a lot more work. But this warm, sunny days have put me back into photography. Some of them ain’t bad at all. Hehehe. Have a wonderful day you all.

    1. Well Lydia…Those are the seeds that have fallen from our Blue Ceanothus bush….. it has dropped its seeds on to some wild strawberry leaves. The bush, which is also know as Californian Lilac has been fantastic this spring and if you click back to 21st May you will see the whole bush πŸ™‚
