Thimble Hall, Youlgreave, Derbyshire
Aptly named ‘Thimble Hall’ a minute cottage in the Derbyshire village of Youlgreave. This style of housing was once common from the mid 1700 thru 1800’s and was know as a ‘Two Up and Two Down’.
With the pressure on the scarcity of affordable housing here in the UK, I do wonder when we will go back to these old ideas….?!
Mind you Vagabonds are not that welcome as the sign from 1824 indicates
