Norwegian Sunset.
Seems rather a strange subject to choose for this weeks nominated topic for Cees B&W Photo Challenge on Clouds. But this last October we had a fabulous cruise to Northern Norway and with the exception of one afternoon the skies were as they say ‘Gin Clear’ Blue skies. The bonus was that every day were blessed with some fabulous sunsets and sunrises as clouds moved in for the night and vanished in the mornings. So here is a selection which might or might not work in mono…
Then of course on one sparkling clear night we had a wonderful display of the Aurora Borealis…. not strictly clouds but rather special Solar Powered Clouds…
So have fun and join in Cees Challenge. The link to here blog is:-

I have never ever seen anyone shooting a Norwegian sunset in black n’ white before and – I do have a strong feeling these were originally shot in colors? I can go for black and white photography as an art form with candle lighting a.s.o., – but sunsets? Colors are the core of any sunset on the planet. My humble opinion, of course! 🙂

Thank you Cee….sunsets may not be the first choice for clouds…… but to be honest it is clouds as well as the low sun that make sunsets. 🙂

I wouldn’t normally think of making sunrise/sunset photos black and white, but these are really dramatic. You aced the challenge, I think.
