11am. Not a soul in sight. I reckon it is the cold and grey start to the day that has deterred people from getting out for their ‘exercise’ this Sunday morning. It did get a little busier later on into our walk, mainly fellow dog walkers, runners, cyclists and some pram pushers with very small kids. Not that I can blame folk for rolling over and pulling up the duvet….. it is a marked change from what had become the sunny norm.
Even back in the garden, these poppies were drooping their dwarf heads in sympathy.
These are self seeded wild Poppies…. much like Welsh or Icelandic Poppies. They come up every year, always in an unlikely spot…. not that we mind, they add colour often to a dark corner.

The only surprise to the day, is that now it is coming to a close, the sun has presented itself. It does look as if we may get a rather nice evening 🙂

I agree with Sue–nothing at all grey or drab about those glowing poppies!

They do add some real brightness to an otherwise dark corner on an drab day…… and they do that all on their own 🙂
