A Rather Nothing Day

A rather nothing day…. a day that didn’t wake up and make up its mind what to do.   Shame, as all we needed was a glint of sunshine and we might well have thought that autumn is on the way

Just a little sunshine and parts of the woods would have started to glow..

May be tomorrow!…then again maybe not.  We just have to wait and see…

Before the Change…..

DERBYSHIRE

A Dry Stone Derbyshire Gritstone Wall, frames the view from above the Goyt Valley looking down the Errwood Reservoir.  Another week or so and the colour of the landscape will change becoming more autumnal in appearance.

As for that Dry Stone Wall, well it is in need of some care and attention.  But I guess we can forgive it for showing signs of wear and tear as it will have been there for several hundred years….. as for being ‘Dry’ that refers to its construction, no concrete or mortar, just the skilful placing of the local stones. As the weather here can be rather wet and harsh in this locality it certainly would have been far from dry on occasions 🙂
