Cannot wait……. Its not a Load of Bull

They say that from April 12th, I can go and get my hair cut……..    and about time too!.

But to make sure that happens, and Hairdressers can re-open, everyone has to abide by the Covid restrictions…so…

Itchy Feet…… but also very Hesitant – On a Thoughtful Thursday

The Government’s of the various UK Countries have now published their “Road Maps” out of the CV19 Lockdown and easing of Travel Restrictions.  If the Media is to be believed, that despite the date still being vague and subject to change, there has been a mad rush to book holidays both here in the UK and Overseas.  Travel Companies overwhelmed.

May be its an age related state of mind….but, I am very hesitant to even contemplate travel and a holiday.  I think back to last year when restrictions were ‘eased’, not lifted.   The crowds that flooded our Beaches, car parks overflowing in the Countryside, Airports busy, shipping folk to favourite destinations, on so called safe routes.  We all know how that ended.

I would love to head off… to travel and explore again. I do have many memories that tease and create anticipation…..itchy feet indeed

Morecambe Bay

It would be nice to hop on a boat and head over a new horizon…it would also be nice, just to jump in the car and head off to somewhere in our Islands.  Not sure I dare.  Even with our Vaccinations safely in our arms, I am not sure I want to battle with crowds just yet.

Still nice to remember and dream….

For the time being I am going to do just that…

More Sunshine….. Two consecutive days

Yes, sunshine again.  Nor did it have any problems melting the overnight frost, not that we have had many frosts this year.   I don’t think that I was imagining it but the sun actually felt rather warming. Despite the warming  rays, the Lake still looked forbidding, dark and cold.  But no ice!

Just in case this marvelous sunny start wasn’t going to last, we made an early start.  Maybe that is why there were so few folk sharing this sunny morning in our Park….. I think they missed the best of the day.  After all what could be better than a blue sky, long shadows and a bright sun.

It was though still a surprise to feel some real warmth from the sun, not do I think that I am mistaken in thinking that the buds on the Birch have swollen.  Maybe Spring is not that far away…..   I am feeling optimistic despite the rather dire weather forecast for the coming weekend – it may only be a Blip!

As always, whatever the weather and whatever you are able to enjoy…

Yesterdays Euphoria… has been rather dampened

All the residual joy attached to yesterdays January sunshine, vanished when we woke this morning.  Woke, not just to a grey day, but a very damp day to say the least.  So it was more than a trifle wet for today’s permitted lockdown exercise……  a constant drip,  damp and the clinging mist enveloped everything, successfully drowning yesterdays euphoria.

Nor is the  forward forecast that encouraging, so try to stay dry and as always…
