On the Edge……

Over Owler Tor Hathersage Moor

One of many well weathered Gritstone Tors on Hathersage Moor, Derbyshire.  Most have acquired names over the centuries.  This is Over Owler Tor.

Great views from Hope Valley to Higger Tor and Stanage Moor.  Open Country and freedom…..  just great for walkers (and climbers along the edges).

    1. It is a rather grand spot. From here you get great views but also access to lots of walks, in the valley or along the gritstone edges. This is in the heart of what we call the Derbyshire Peak District. I always laugh, for after living, working and travelling in so many parts of the UK, I have to say Derbyshire is no Peak district….the very highest point being 636 metres…you can actually see it on the horizon. This picture was from last year, in late November, we had some very early light snow showers, the most we received all winter. Might not be mountain high but just as wild and exposed in its own way 🙂
