Cold today… well cold for us, though we did reach a dissy 2c by lunchtime. Not that I was complaining as we enjoyed a lovely winter sun, low with long shadows. I don’t think it was my imagination, but I thought that it had a warmer glow, than of recent days.
It was also our first day of a new National Lockdown. The restrictions of late, in our Tier system, just seemed to have been ignored by a large minority, they have made it difficult and at times downright dangerous for others. Maybe the penny has dropped….. today on my allowed exercise, one hour and local, I was not having to take avoiding action. Yep, the Park was not quite, but nearly all my own.
Lakeside, it did seem much colder….. but I guess that was just the psychological proximity of an expanse of water.

Despite the best efforts of the sun, large areas of ice remained. I always find it strange (but understand why) that the Black Headed Gulls avoid the open water and prefer to stand around on the Ice, hoping from one leg to another…. that is until they spy someone who may have some food for them, then its noisily up into the air and flap arround frantically squabbling amongst themselves.

On sunny days like this Lockdown can be rather tolerable….. even so…

The sunshine is here as well, at least for the last 2-3 days, however, the winter is back with 8-10 inches
of snow even here in the lowlands and the temperatures have been winterish . . .
This morning we woke up to 12 degrees C below zero! Brrrr!

Well, I am happy to hear you enjoyed your walk outside without having to bypass other people, but I am sorry to hear you all are under yet another serious lockdown. 😦

One hour exercise a day outside, in the spring it was very tolerable because the weather was warm dry and we could make full use of the garden…. that option isn’t available right now. The big problem has been the number of people ignoring the restrictions and safety advice… they presumed the rules applied to others, selfish and stupid.
