If you made an early start to this Sunday you would have been greeted with some very welcome sunshine. For some it was a chance to pause and absorb some extra Vitamin D.
The early risers were out taking advantage of this welcome break in the recent run of bad weather. Ideal time for the prescribed lockdown exercise. At a weekend, it is best to get out early, not just to make the most of any good weather that is on offer, but also to avoid larger numbers of people. Whilst most behave with respect, give space and consideration for others, too many just couldn’t careless.
So a brisk walk, or for some a run, through the Park and along by the River Derwent, was the location. No surprise that the river is running high and fast. It will not take much more rain to see it overflow its banks, reminding us that it did just that, this time last year.
By the time we had returned via the Darley Mill Complex the sun was doing its best to hide. The day was again changing and Gulls (the harbinger of bad weather, or so folklore says) were circling ominously above.
We wait to see what tomorrows weather will bring us….its may be wishful thinking but a little bit more sunshine would help….. at least it makes people smile 🙂
