Spring in the Trossachs……

Disc One

Loch Earn, Perthshire, Scotland.

Loch Earn is just one of many Lochs in the area of Scotland known as the Trossachs. As I understand it the name Trossachs is derived from the description of a wooded glen. But the name is now used to describe this region of mountain, river, lochs and wooded glens, that lies above the Glasgow industrial belt and below the northern Highlands.

Often described as Scotland in miniature.  An area much loved by Sir Walter Scott (1771-1832) the Scottish Author of Rob Roy, The Lady of the Lake and Ivanhoe fame. Scott’s writing was, I guess, one of the main catalysts in creating the Trossachs as a Tourist Destination, much loved by Victorian travellers and still as much loved today.

(A quick PS.  The above was taken 4 years ago, a typical May day.  Today I am told our very strange May weather in 2021 has covered much of this area in Snow – winter seems to be back)
