Plaza de Espana, Seville.
It was hot the Sunday we we were in Seville. Mid afternoon and the street thermometers were reading 39c with the decimal point edging upwards 39.7, 39.8. 39.9. Would we reach 40c? There were even small groups standing watching the digital displays in expectation. Well it didn’t that Sunday. 39c no matter what the extra point value is still very very hot. So hot that I really felt for the Horses trotting round on Carriage Rides, surely it was far too hot for their equine welfare.
This weekend, the exceptional heatwave, that has blighted Greece, Sicily and Southern Italy, now appears to be entrenching itself over Spain, Andalucía one of the predicted hottest locations. 45c for starters and heading upwards.
So hot, that I guess Tourists and Locals will be seeking shade and keeping as cool as they are able. But I do hope that those horses are rested, shaded and well watered – till temperatures return to something like normal.
Where ever you are and today and everyday…….

One tries to gain confidence from the fact the Andalusians love their horses… but deep down you have to feel uneasy.
