I am tempted to say that these are tall Rudbeckias, but I may be wrong. Very similar, with the same seed centre but petals a little more spread and looser. . These are over 3 meters tall, some at least 4 meters…. so, I didn’t need to stoop to ground level to frame the flowers against the summer sky.
Maybe it should be described as not reaching for the sun…. but reaching for the star’s

I bow to Peters knowledge. They are Jerusalem Artichoke and from what I have read the bulbous root is very nutritional. I would need to resort to Google for preparation and cooking instructions. That said… these in this garden are not likely to be disturbed 🙂
