Two Fallow Deer doing a little ‘jousting’. I don’t think these two were being very aggressive towards each other. That will change as the month progresses and the rivalry will become intense.
Fallow Deer begin their rutting period early. Mid September through early October will be the time of most activity. Then all will be quiet. Quiet that is, till the Red Deer Stags rut begins, a much more noisy and violent affair! For that we wait till the end of October and November
September is the month that brings us change in so many ways.
Change indeed but as always….
