The News this morning announced that today was the last day, before Christmas to post and 2nd Class Mail for ‘Guaranteed Delivery’ before the Holiday Season. !st Class post has until the 16th deadline.
All seems a bit academic, as the Post Office Management and their Staff have failed to reach agreement on pay and working conditions. No matter the rights or wrong, it just means that between now and Christmas there are various days of Planned Industrial Action. Which all means that Mail Deliveries will be even more hit and miss than usual.
Management say that it is to improve service for the customer…. so far it isn’t working. When the above Victorian Post Box was installed, I feel sure the service was at a higher standard
Sad to say, that gone are the days when we had a regular dedicated ‘Postie’ by whom we could set our clocks by.
