Evening over Cobh, Ireland

A popular Tourist destination in County Cork, is the attractive and colourful town of Cobh.  The skyline is dominated by is Cathedral but there is much else to see and enjoy… not least the hospitality of the people.  One visit and you will want to go back.

There was a brief period when the Town was renamed Queenstown after a visit by Queen Victoria. It was later changed back to a version of its original name Cove as in The Cove of Cork… but using a Gaelic translation Cobh.

  It does have a big claim to fame as it was the last port of call for the Titanic on her famous fateful journey.
