Okay, you got me here as a typical American. I’m not sure what a hot pot is. So what did I miss?? ha-ha

A Hot Pot is just another name for a ‘stew or casserole’ usually a meat based dish cooked with root vegetables, traditional using the less expensive cuts of meat. There were even regional variations such as Lancashire Hot Pot and were a means of providing a hot meal at little cost when times were tough.

Thank you for defining that for me. 🙂 I asked my husband if he knew what a hot pot was and he thought it was some kind of meal. He remembered that from reading C.S Forester’s Horatio Hornblower novels.
