Lambing Time….
It was this time a few years ago when we were walking through this field of long grass and reeds, when suddenly out popped the head of this Cumbrian Herdwick Ewe. Not sure who was most surprised, but she froze. As we slowly and quietly passed it became clear that she was in fact hiding a very young lamb.
A magic moment and no harm done . Once well past, we turned to take a last look…… but she had already slunked back into the cover of the reeds.
Enjoy your weekend…. and as always….

Surprised…. we were. She had the sense to stay put and freeze pretending she wasn’t there. It was one of those simple, but magic moments that lingers in ones memory bank.

We forget a great many daily events/encounters…. but some just stick in our Random Access Memories. 🫠

Indeed they do….why can I recall (what were at the time) relatively recently ruined miners cottages with blue doors hanging off hinges. on a day in North Wales when I was 5, and wanting to go up the stairs and explore, with my father firmly telling me ‘no’

No might just be the ‘key word’ ….. but yes, memory works in a strange way.
