Hathersage Moor, Derbyshire
High on the moorland edge, after weeks of carving by the Stone Mason, this Gritstone Millstone lies abandoned . There are many others scattered arround, some left where they were being cut, due to a stone imperfection. Many more were just abandoned in these open air quarries, when a new grinding wheel was invented. Overnight this old industry died.
It illustrates just how fragile and precarious life can be….
So this Monday and always, spare a thought for others and as always….
