A rare morning, for at times the sun actually braved the clouds and gave us a reminder that it was still up in the sky. A walk along the Trent & Mersey Canal at Willington was decided upon. That sun continued to tease, as it was more a case of dodging the rain showers, showers which at times were more than showers!

There was no movement of boats from their moorings, all safely tied up and many with their coal/wood burning stoves puffing out smoke…. all added to the mornings atmosphere..
In the last century, when I was a little lad, one of the loved activities was to go train spotting and to write down the numbers of each locomotive as it dashed bye. So I guess my past-time on Canal Walks is similar…. spotting the various names of the Narrowboats. Some names obviously give a clue to the owners, other just give you a chuckle and some leave you puzzled…. no matter its part of the fun…. so here are a few spotted this morning….
Then it was home to get dry…. grateful for some sunshine but just wish that Spring would hurry up and join us. This weekend would be a good time to arrive, after all it is ” The Ides of March “…. no matter what the weather, as always….
Please Remember ….
Stay Safe …. Be Kind…. Look After Each Other
