Teasels
Moving to mid August, and apart from 4 days of a mini heatwave, we still have not yet enjoyed a summer.
Nature though, is showing signs that autumn is on the way. Teasels are now have brand new spiky heads, slowly the purple flowers are forming and the seeds formed…both good news for Bees, and the particularly Goldfinch, who will enjoy the late summer feast provided.
Teasels may not be the most attractive or popular plant, often disparaged by our gardeners…. but one of the most valuable and in my view attractive.
Whatever your season and the weather it provides… as always….
