The Upper Derwent Valley, Derbyshire
Reflecting back over this years travels, noting places I need to head back to, and a memory from a few years ago suddenly returned.
A November evening, as the sun went down at the end of a long days walk. True is was cold, well it was November, but fresh, light and magical … a perfect ending as we descended towards the Howden and Derwent Reservoirs and there Dams, the Dams that played such an important training role prior to the Dambuster Raids in WW2. A grim reminder of war, but also a place of tranquillity and peace.
Note to self…. add to the to do list for 2026. Though not too sure I will get the same evening light π

Wherever you are, or where you are planning to go…always….
