Inside Out the nominated subject for this Sundays Challenge…. So here is a quirky take on the subject. The picture is a scan of an old Perutz transparency. Taken in 1961.
I was one of three young mountaineers enjoying a trip to Scotland’s Mountains. We had just endured 5 days of torrential rains in the Torridon’s, and despite achieving many summits and struggling up wet rock faces, a change of location was desired. So we headed off to the Isle of Skye. In those days long waits for the Skye Ferry were an accepted part of the journey… The Skye Road Bridge wasn’t even a dream in the authorities eye.
So here we are on the slip way, in sunshine… so out with all the wet gear in the hope of drying. Everything turned “INSIDE OUT “ and the contents of our van also turned ” INSIDE OUT “.
As they say needs must…. lots of odd looks and some questions, but we did get some dry clothes. We also went onto enjoy the next 6 days on the Cuillin Mountains of Skye in unbelievable Mediterranean weather.
Well worth turning the van and clothes “Inside Out”.
I hope it fits the brief for Debbie’s OWS. Here is the Link to Debbie’s Blog :https://travelwithintent.com/2026/02/01/inside-out-2/–
