Just a thought this Thursday.
This Grade 11 listed Stable Block, built in the 1720’s… lovingly restored and now home for various businesses.
A thought that has often crossed my mind. Will todays builds, often utility buildings, stay the test of time… even now buildings, built in the last 40 years (and less) are demolished an replaced by yet another ‘Match Box’ construction. Like that Pete Seeger song… Little Boxes, made of ticky-tacky, and they all look the same.
Times change, but I am not to sure, that in many ways , one can say its progress….. certainly not building a heritage.
I guess all we can do is to…..

Or the Joni Mitchell song “they paved paradise to put up a parking lot”. Love the pop of colour in this building.

In Belgium we saw the “bones” of a super old building being held up for a modern inset of a McDonalds 😳.
