A Summer of Heatwave and Drought
Gardeners have suffered, plants shrivelling and perishing….. but it is perhaps our Farmers that have suffered the worst, grass not growing for cattle grazing and whilst harvesting has been easier in many ways, the yield had been poor. Short stems and lower quality seed heads, second crops of hay not an option for many, straw in short supply.
At least this farmer has been able to harvest much of his crops, two barns of Straw and two of Hay…. will it be enough?.
Now I wonder what the autumn has in store for all of us…. best we, as always….

We have seen sunny days and golden fields and on the surface one thinks all is well… but what we dont see is the poor quality and quantity of the seeds. Then after harvest the ground was too hard to set the next crop… always at the whim of the weather

It certainly has been a strange season of weather and I do feel for those who grow crops. Some places like yours where there is heat and drought and some others where there’s been too much rain. Let’s hope for better weather patterns soon.
