” Ready to Save Lives at Sea “
Shetlands… and the Lerwick Lifeboat, like many others in the RNLI, it is ready for action whenever lives are at risk at Sea. Manned by a well trained volunteer crew, equipped for the challenge, whatever the weather….and invariably the very worst sea conditions.
Nor is the RNLI a government organisation. Like the volunteer crew, it is supported by voluntary donations from the Public. Not all Lifeboats are alike, it is a case of a lifeboat to fit the potential needs of the location…. from large vessels to specially designed high speed Ribs… but all ready for action when needed.
