A Beech in Padley Gorge, Derbyshire
This old Beech Tree must have self seeded, possibly 200 years ago. It had obviously found a safe crevice between the Gritstone boulders and thrived in its early years. Now all these years later those same rocks, over which the roots have been creeping, seem to add additional stability and security.
Like all of us in these trouble times….. it is clinging on to hope, so…….
