The definition between Street Art and Graffiti rather merges into one. Though I did read somewhere that Street Art is approved, whilst Graffiti is art placed upon unauthorised locations… none to sure of that, but I guess close enough.
But the above is perhaps neither. It is Art in a one time shop window. It is an attempt in one Derby Street to prevent the now ever present empty and dirty shop windows.
In this case it can be found on Thomas Leaper House, or where it once stood. The current Georgian building, was a private residence on this once prosperous street named Iron Gate. It was later converted into a Bank, in the era when Banks sought out grand buildings, in which to set up a prestigious local HQ. Shop windows were installed. Then as became the habit the Bank closed the branch, and in the 1990’s it was converted to a Pub with the Name ‘The Thomas Leaper’…..then Covid put paid to that venture.
So I guess you call the above… Window Art, a positive approach to improve the visual appearance of yet another vacant High Street frontage.

Maybe a good idea, I will let you make up your own mind.
One thing I am sure of, is that it is Friday, yep! its here again. So we have a weekend ahead, so enjoy and as always….
