Moody Monday……….. it’s come round again

Bigger-Shed

Monday again.  Strange in these  past lockdown weeks, where weekdays blended seamlessly into weekends…. you always seemed to instinctively know when Monday came round again.  Once again you wonder just where the time went to, vanished into the ether.

As for the shed above…I have always questioned whether they needed a bigger shed or a shorter ladder!

An Image of Hope………. just a little :-)

Disc One

Raining again today…..  We do have the promise that it will get back to weather much more like July summer weather next week..  Till then its more rain .

It all reminded me of an image of a shop front I spotted about 3 years ago.  It is a shop on the Harbourside at Portree, on the Isle of Skye, Scotland.

The cynical will say….it always rains in Scotland.  Well, Scotland and the Isle of Skye certainly get their share of ‘weather’  …..  but I can confirm it also gets a great deal of sunshine too..

So maybe they named this shop very much with tongue in cheek .

Time-to-Dine048-sm

Time for Dinner…

This weeks B&W Challenge Cee has nominated the topic of Tables and Chairs….. everyday items.

So here are a few suggestions for the Challenge…from the Luxury of a Stately Dinning Rooms all precis with perfect table settings….. to the more lowly but very welcoming Kitchen Table…

Then of course there are more humble forms of seating.  Here is a reminder of School Rooms of a previous era with there very humble and very hard Benches…

Schoool-Room-Workhouse

Then there is the holiday favourite … the Bench on the Promenade with a view over the sea, this one turned into a unique Art Installation….

Sitting-Still--bw

Buster loves his comfort and after a long walkies an easy chair is the perfect spot to chill out in the sun…

Finally here is a Bench in a setting, that with these milder winter winters, we haven’t seen for three years now….. but in the summer sunshine it is one of my favourite places to ‘rest awhile’…..

Bench-in-Snow

Why not join in the Challenge, it is a bit of fun…and right now we could all do with as much fun as we can muster.

Friday Trivia……. Flamboyant

Peacock

A Peacock displays his magnificent fan of iridescent feathers…. all set to attract the ladies.

Peacocks have long features in art from the very earliest of times.  For many the display is  a symbol of Joy, Creativity and new Life. Many countries around the world associate the Peacock more closely with their Religions, often seen as a sign of Immortality (the Greeks used to think the flesh of the bird would not decay). Else where the Peacock is recognised as a Guardian of Royalty.

The feathers have been used as  Fashion accessories over many centuries, perhaps because the closely represent the bright colours of a rainbow.

But some folk are not so sure about the Peacock and would consider a Peacock Feather as a sign of bad luck, the bringer of misfortune and even an all seeing eye…. maybe the circular disks are rather eye like and with so many on display, they certainly would be ‘All Seeing’.

AND Just to cheat I have spotted that Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge if for an image ending with the letters…… OCK

So very much with tongue in cheek here is my submission for this weeks B&W Challenge
