Butter wouldn’t Melt…..


Buttermere…   always loved that name for this Cumbrian Lakeland expanse of water.  Nestling below a ring of mountains Buttermere never disappoints.  Lake side walks, tracks to the very tops, woodland shores to rest and picnic.

But this view, across Buttermere, towards Fleetwith Pike and Honister Pass is my favorite. I wish I was there.

Moody Monday…I Hope the Weather Improves before my Lambs Arrive!


A hardy Herdwick Ewe.  Cannot be far from lambing time, so I bet she is hoping that this never ending succession of storms  comes to an end. It is a tough life as it is for Hardwick’s on the Cumbrian Fells and nature at the moment is making life just that bit tougher.
