At last…the Snowdrops.
In truth they have been in flower for a few weeks now. But unlike normal seasons when in the spring they carpet areas of woodland with their white bells a top of those fresh spring green leaves, this year has been very different. Well in in our part of the U.K.it most certainly has been a different start to spring.
Places where I would normally go to bring you a feast of snowdrops seem either bare or else they are ‘blind’, green with now flowers.
It has been a sunny winter and early spring but bitterly cold. Nor have we had the coverings of snow that lock in the heat and protect the bulbs. At last we are starting to get larger displays of Snowdrops, much later than is usual for us, but not the masses we so much love.
Still, best not to sound as if we are complaining, but to enjoy what we have…..and maybe the best is yet to come.
