Darley Mills (UNESCO World Heritage Site), Darley Abbey, Derby
The weir at Darley Mils has all but disappeared under the flood waters rushing down the Derwent Valley. Not surprising as we have had some heavy downpours over the weekend.
But I guess we have managed rather better than many. Both to the north and the south, storms with gales and winds between 80 to 100 mph., have caused a great deal of havoc and misery for many……. and more storms are forecast.
We have got off quite lightly, the River Derwent has burst its banks and changed the scenery over the Park and the adjacent flood plain.
Still a watery reminder that for many the situation will have hade serious consequences
The sun made an appearance to try and bring some relief to the storms….. maybe this is the calm before the next cycle of bad weather.
Please Remember ….
